Initial Balance

Marks the session's initial balance — the range of the first hour — with its midpoint and projected range extensions.

The initial balance is the range price establishes in the first hour of the session — a staple of market-profile reading. This indicator marks that high and low, draws the midpoint, holds them across the day, and projects extension levels above and below at the multiples you set, so the session’s structure is laid out as it develops.

It draws levels and labels them. It doesn’t tell you to trade the extension or fade the range, it doesn’t fire alerts, and once the first-hour window closes its levels are fixed and don’t shift on historical bars. It’s a map, not a signal.

What it shows

  • The initial-balance high and low — the first-hour range of the session — held across the day.
  • The midpoint of that range, drawn halfway between the high and low.
  • Extension levels projected above and below the range at the multiples you choose.
